Firstly, I want to make a formal apology and say that the Nicholas Kirkwood [1] sample sale (posted on the right hand column) actually started today and will be be on for another two days.
Secondly, I want to make an informal apology for the slew of 'Oh my gosh, I bought this at a sample sale' posts lately but as it is MY Style Bubble I'm presenting, currently in the bubble, is a calendar of sample sales/braderies that I go to, to prove that actually if you do live in a city where these sales occur, it's a bit more saavy than spending the same amount of money on the high street stores and also because comparing the original prices and the marked down prices is just incredibly fun.
Lastly, and for this, I'm ashamedly NOT going to apologise for is that I made it to the sale today having found out that it started today and went a bit mad picking up not one but two pairs of shoes. I put it to the fact that it was a chilled-out sale (expect shoe-grabbing and insane evils tomorrow and Sat me thinks...), with plush carpeting and also the lovely yet modest Mr Kirkwood was there himself. Scrap that. Actually, put it to the fact that I'm a Nicholas Kirkwood fan and nothing would have detered me from buying AT least one pair of shoes...
I'm amassing shoes in a disgustingly fast rate these days especially in sample sale times like this but when I saw these black woven and gold wedges with spidery thin straps and a pair of cream canvas and gold chunky heels priced each at £50... ack... even the brain couldn't tell me to say no.
Given that they're both from Kirkwood's SS07 collection [6], it furthermore does beg the question of 'Susie, are you stark raving mad? Buying open toe's and wedge sandals in the winter indeed....!'. So then the hoisery collection comes into play. I don't envision outfits when I'm buying shoes like these (where surely I can detract ppl from what I'm wearing to my feet....) but rather what tights/socks etc I can wear with them.... and I can usually wintrify most shoes however summery....
So if you are in London, and though the sale is in Knightsbridge (69 Knightsbridge, above Emma Somerset), one of those odd/quasi-surreal areas... I really would get your feet down there tomorrow or Saturday...
