Thank you Angie [1] for blessing my life with cages. No, that isn't an ironic feminist poetic statement. I thought I'd never mean that sincerely but I do. Why? From the frothy cage dress [2]came a sturdier cage skirt which in reality is a whole lot easier to wear (though I wore the dress on Saturday with a positive response to boot... I think i was expecting jeers of 'You have holes in your dress!'...). Over the simple/casual things to the point of having no regard for whether the floral pattern on the cage skirt actually goes with whatever is going on underneath, seems to work the best but in the end I couldn't resist but wear it over a hot bit of ruffled pink. Depending on how high I pull it up on my waist, there's also different ways of working the structure of the cage. I'm now thinking Angie could make a pretty penny making these cage skirts as nobody post Acne SS08-collection has reproduced the concept. Probably in my own mental 'Style Bubble' (guff guff.... ho ho...), I made the skirts out to be bigger than they are in reality. Perhaps for me, they seemed like the easy route of double layering skirts hence my visions of mass-production...
