Prettifying the Fetish

Ballatex [1]

Emma Cook's tie dye latex in her collection intrigued me but Balenciaga's AW08-9 collection [2] finale ending with printed latex has confirmed it.  If I spent a heap of time prettifying my latex black leggings [3], why not just buy the latex that is already prettified?  This latex printed [4] with Turner-esque landscapes and classical motifs seem to amalgamate the contrast that I had been working on within my own latex legging outfits.  If people were unsure about latex before, trust Ghesquiere to amp up the beauty in such a way that the material goes past the realms of 'fetish'.  Imagining 'ladies who lunch' in these dresses wouldn't be too far off the mark.  Alas, prettified latex is probably a little out of my reach and sadly probably not DIY-able... oh well... guess I’ll just continue to work the contrast in my own fumbling ways...
