Don't shoot me but I've never been into the supposed SUPER comfort footwear brands that will have people forming waiting lists for shoes that are essentially (and in my opinion only!) NOT aesthetically pleasing.  Uggs, Crocs, Birkenstocks.... nope, never got the appeal.  Perhaps I'm not feeling the pain that everyone else is with their footwear.  Dr Scholl's is an exception in that though it hasn't touched the level of popularist mass appeal that the other brands have, I have grown up with it (mother has a penchant for the wooden sandals...) yet also disregarded it for the reason that again, my feet aren't prone to pain. 

So my peepers had to be checked and re-checked when I saw this Scholl advert in Pop magazine, showcasing a limited pair of Scholls designed by Diego Dolcini who has been busy helping Scholl (the name is now shortened for rebranding...) to up the fashionability of these beloved sandals.   It doesn't surprise me that Dolcini has a degree in architectural studies because he has created a striking shape aided by the contrast between the delicate perspex and chunky straps.  Adding a partial perspex wedge and rejigging the straps whilst retaining those recongisable fastenings seems to have achieved a shoe that I'm now predictably coveting.  Or is it the block coloured styling with the shoe that also makes them beautifulL  I may be buying my first pair of "comfort" shoes very soon....(note the inverted commas...)
