Dripping on Vogue
I'm not sure how happy Vogue would be to see their covers distorted in this way but the artist Shane Bradford has added a beautiful sort of imperfection to the covers by applying his well-known paint dripping techniques to two British Vogue covers. I'm not particularly precious about ruining supposed iconic covers so to see them dripping with candy striped paint gives them a much needed 'messing up of perfection', creating a different kind of beauty. The creased effect that Bradford has rendered reminds me of the way I used to concertina-fold magazine pages and make collages with them on canvas.

They're both on display at Rod Barton Invites gallery as part of the Rainbow Straightener exhibition for two measly days.
