The struggle to DIY sans sewing machine and time rages on, complicated by the fact that a possible iMac landing in the house might mean there isn't the sufficient space for a sewing machine.  Therefore I can only prop this section of the blog up with easy DIYs that a monkey could do. Monkeys would certainly have a riot with these buttons which I've been holding onto since Paris.

They're actually the buttons that have been used on the Acne x Lanvin collaboration that is still yet to drop in stores and online.  I've signed up to the waiting list for no particular reason other than curiosity as I have zilch intention of buying seeing as prices are something like $500-$1000 (and I can't even have the pleasure of halving that figure to convert to GBP...damn you weak pound!).  Through a friend, I procured the buttons that are on the collection's trenches and jackets and they have been sitting on my shelf since Paris Fashion Week, staring back at me taunting me as if to say 'You're a talentless lemon with fat fingers'. 

This lemon decided to play a little with the idea of the button's provenance and tried in vain to find a suitable denim garment to make over.  Sadly, the high street is not feeling denim dresses/jackets/coats at the moment and vintage options were out due to lack of time.  In the end, I went for a one-shouldered black denim Topshop dress that has a slightly Lanvin-ish shape to it anyway with the ruffled shoulder. Smashed up cheap jewellery/belts from Primark provided extra decoration...

Some stitches and glue later and see?  Monkeys AND lemons could do this...
