"Halt there! Why is your neck bare? Haven't you heard? Necks are big!"

No, necks aren't physically gigantic but they are supposedly 'in' and necklaces need to be 'statement pieces' for next season.  It's as if nobody ever donned a necklace before this season which of course is a load of piss.  In particular, the Givenchy loaded silver and gold multiple chains isn't really anything new, except for the brand new price tag which I'm guessing is over £1000 price tag that is attached to the admittedly beautiful neck accoutrement.  Still, bloggers like Luxenoir and probably a gaggle of others have the sense to load up on a bunch of their own chains/necklaces for a similar if not better effect than the catwalkies.  I say 'better' just because piling and layering u your own necklaces means your own motifs can be seen poking out.  Personally I'm never going to be one to don ten crucifixes around my neck so instead the plastic diamonds are sticking out.  Loading up on necklaces is something that I've always tried to do with the junk jewellery I acquire purely because one piece looks a bit random and inconsequential and also the fact that my necklaces are usually cheap eBay bulk buys, means wearing them singularly would just point out that blatant cheapie fact.  Therefore I've always had to load up my chain necklaces, wearing at least three at once which apparently for the coming months will conjure up nothing but catwalk images from Givenchy AW08-9 when really it's always been that way due to my unwillingness to spend more than a a tenner on a necklace.
