Sienna Miller would “never” have got involved with Balthazar Getty if he was still happily married.

The ‘Edge of Love’ actress – who was first romantically linked to father-of-four Balthazar earlier this year – has unfairly been branded a home wrecker, according to friends of the couple.

One pal said: “Sienna and Balthazar met through friends and he was already separated from his wife. When he released a statement in July saying he had split from his wife Rosetta, he had been sleeping on friends' couches for six months.”

Despite reports Balthazar was “desperately” trying to convince Rosetta to take him back, friends insist Sienna and the ‘Brothers and Sisters’ actor are incredibly happy together.

The friend added to the New York Post newspaper: “Please. Sienna and he are in love. They're living together in Los Angeles. Everyone knows about her and accepts her.

"It's just annoying that all this misinformation is out there. He should have announced his separation a lot earlier than he did - she was always told he was separated. There's no way she would ever get involved with another married man after Jude Law.”

Meanwhile, Sienna and Balthazar Getty shopped together on Wednesday (08/06/08).

Despite reports they had split as the 'Brothers and Sisters' actor was attempting to reconcile with wife Rosetta, the couple were seen laughing and kissing as they visited stores in Malibu.

According to reports, Balthazar arrived at the Malibu Country Mart alone riding a bicycle, and was joined by Sienna and a female friend shortly afterwards.

Balthazar treated Sienna to several designer items, before relaxing in a coffee shop.

The couple then left separately an hour later, but later met up at the hideaway where Sienna is currently staying.

This is not the first secret meeting the 'Factory Girl' star has enjoyed with her 38-year-old lover this week.

Sienna was seen leaving the complex after a secret tryst with Balthazar, but his car remained in the hotel's garage.

Balthazar has been staying at the Chateau Marmont while filming in the city.

Last weekend, they were seen kissing at a grocery store, just days after it was reported Balthazar had been begging his wife Rosetta to take him back.

However, he has not been seen visiting her or their four children - Cassius, eight, Grace, seven, Violet, four, and ten-month-old June - since his relationship with Sienna became public knowledge.
