Shove some twigs here and there...

Remember how I was saying a photoshoot warped my perception of a designer?  Per Zennström has done the same thing with Sandra Backlund's collection.  The strength of Backlund's giant knits means that they stand alone fairly well hence why in her own lookbooks, there is very minimal styling, letting the pieces to speak for themselves, which is Backlund's natural style anyway.  So it's a little odd to see that a) Zennström has photographed the pieces in a way that shows a more playful facet to them and that stylist Pirjo Niemelä has dared to mix the pieces up with colour blocked unitards.  These images forming a set entitled 'Pure' are from Falter magazine, a fairly new fashion magazine to the mass of London-based indie fash mags, that themed its second issue around the theme of 'purity'.  Perhaps they picked Backlund's pieces because they are a very concentrated essence of 'pure' but the resulting pics gives me another perspective and something not so pure...
