Walk in Space

I'm a forward thinking kinda gal.  I well and truly anticipate my landing on the moon during my life time.  It will happen and when it does, I'd very much like to wear Liam Fahy's design that won him the Fashion Fringe Shoe competition, bagging him a paid internship with Rupert Sanderson.  The white shiny plastic/patent and the way it is cut up into pieces and overlaps and also the non-clompy wedge makes it the ideal shoe to take my first moon steps.  Yes, I am eliminating any rules of physics in this space-shoe equation.  Me thinks my chances of walking in the shoes as opposed to the moon are slightly bigger so I'll also happily take pairing the shoes with a pair of skinny ruched black satin trousers, a white boiled wool big shouldered cape top and some Martin Margiela visor sunglasses as a sensible alternative.

Chunky Casadei

I've never been one to shy away from old school Italian labels.  Obsession with Salvatore Ferragamo was instilled in me early on in life and it will probably be something that stays with me.  Discussing label revival with a friend, he said that given to the right people, any label could be made beautiful and 'hip'.  So, I'm eager to find out who's behind the AW08-9 collection at Italian shoe label Casadei (you'd be forgiven for not being familiar with the name... but their site has a wonderful history page...).

A curvy looking stomp

EllecsshoeWhilst Chloe Sevigny's 'Ask Chloe' column in British Elle (surpassing British Vogue on superior style these days, non?) hasn't really floated by boat, I am still stumped/floored/any other foot-related verb by the shoes that Chloe wears in this Elle shot that flanks her column.

Feel those colours

I must be regressing back to my messy state of youth seeing as I have to painfully to tell you that the shoes that I now wear the most are.... my light grey Converse high tops.  I only say the 'most' only because I'm doing a lot of trekking around these days and they come with me in a canvas tote whenever I have to slip off the heels to do some serious pounding.  So when I came across these Adidas Consortium Superskates, it did make me think about investing in a pair of shoes that I'd actually get a lot of practical wear out of.  Yes, it is unfortunate that it isn't just about the fantastical two wear shoe-buys with me... but look at the wonderful flaps of colours...
