The Beautiful People

Be Gentle, Be Still

Much has been made of the name that the female counterpart publication to Fantastic Man.  Yes, the Gentlewoman is finally here and yes, the name that some love or hate has stuck.  It launched with a very dignified cocktail party in Paris a few days ago where every woman looked like a Gentlewoman and every man was Fantastic... rendering me at a loss as to why I was there.  Still I had to pick up a copy before it hits the shops some time next week (22nd I believe...)

"Drop your socks and grab something..."

**WARNING** Inklings of Mad Men S3 spoilers ahead...this is for UK peeps really... and I've seen other blogs do this sort of thing too and thought I should join this etiquette bandwagon...

>> In the whole weekend spirit of being tardy, slow and generally uninformed, I'm trying to make amends, albeit still in a sluggish fashion.  It doesn't help that being whipped around in the head by snow and winds has now brought on a cold.  Thanks a lot.  Now I'll go about infecting anyone who passes my way in Paris, Florence and Sao Paolo over the next two weeks.

I seem determined this week to litter the blog with a ton of animated GIFS, so much so that your eyes will start getting that tired double lidded thing , similar to when acidic pixels were all over MySpace back in the day (can't quite believe I'm already using 'back in the day' with MySpace...).  Still, this is the way that Contributor Magazine have chosen to present their bitesized posts on their haute-blog/e-zine and in their case of frequently uploaded and strangely compelling imagery, it works a treat.

Old Blue Lastings...

>> More snappy snappy snaps here that are rather diminished in quality because I took them on a disposable camera as opposed to the slightly more pro Nikon L-35 (just in case camera buffs wanted to know what was used to take that shot of me in front of some glorious red brick...).

Last Sunday on the Bank Holiday weekend, at the Old Blue Last, I was reminded of two things...

... that great accessories can still be found in Camden as demonstrated by these tights and wrist adornments worn by Leanne...

... sadly I need to first get over my Camden hangover... because I was one of those teens that hung out in Camden in a bid to seek vintage clothes, underage drinking and errr... *air quotes* alternative vibes... and then as soon as I hit 18, I found decent vintage elsewhere, could legally drink and was too busy studying to even consider the "alternative" question...
