Katy Perry will perform Madonna’s ‘Like a Virgin’ at the MTV Video Music
Awards on Sunday (09/07/08).

British comedian Russell Brand – who will host the exclusive Los Angeles
ceremony – revealed the ‘I Kissed a Girl’ singer will perform a version of
the song, adding: “There's a lot of virginity and lesbianism going on at the
show.”

At a press conference yesterday, Russell was joined by Christina
Aguilera, who announced she will be performing songs from her upcoming
greatest hits album at the ceremony – giving newborn son Max the chance to
see his mom on TV for the first time.

Christina, who will debut new track ‘Keeps Getting Better’, said: “You're
going to get a first look and a first listen at my new image and my new
sound. The last album, the style and sound was about vintage glam - this one
is all about the future.
